This past Saturday evening while in Ensenada, Mexico, I had the opportunity to visit Capricho’s.

The first thing I noticed was how warm & welcoming the restaurant and its staff were. After being seated, we were presented with an impressive wine list. My husband and I ordered a bottle of my favorite Mexican wine, Adobe Guadalupe's Serafiel, a wonderful blend of cabernet & syrah. I was impressed to find that not only do they use Riedel glasses, but the waiter actually knew how to properly serve the wine!

For starters we ordered the tortilla soup & the cactus salad. Both appetizers were delicious. I love tortilla soup and Capricho’s was one of the best that I've ever tasted. Next we ordered our entrees. I heard the Filet stuffed with goat cheese and 3 chile sauce was a local favorite and wanted to try it, however, I am not a fan of goat cheese. I was surprised to find the chef most accommodating by offering to prepare the dish without the cheese. My husband decided on the shrimp in mango & chile sauce. The food was phenomenal!!!!

I would definitely recommend that the next time you are in Ensenada, Mexico; you pay a visit to Capricho’s. The ambiance, the service & the food and wine are sure to please even the most discriminating diner.
